Thus the action of counting is legal as of now!

Why throw this back into the ring, Pezz? We ought to talk about the points where we disagree. Of course, counting is legal, and unless the Supreme Court rules otherwise, the count will have no legal bearing on the election results. Obviously, we can't disagree on simple statements of fact.

The law permits them to be Democrats

Of course it does. It also permits me to make a jocular remark stating that their political affiliation makes them IMPARTIAL! (What Luck!)

My suggestion that there is "bias by the counters" stands a priori by virtue of the inordinate measures in place to attempt to prevent that bias from skewering the election. This is what my curt comment referred to. I guess you missed it. I don't say it is a fault.

Other citizens don't need this attention assuming their votes have been counted by the machine

Are you intentionally ignoring or evading the proposition being raised by myself and others, that the greatest problem with the recounting is that it ignores most of the citizens in Florida and virtually all the citizens of the U.S., whose votes were not counted by the machine? They are only recounting a select group of citizens that have been selected (by another select group) for the privilege of having their votes prodded.

Couple of questions for you: Do you think it was coincidental that the media, noted for their accuracy and skill in following election results, and aware of the polls pre-election stating Florida was going to Bush, and aware that the Panhandle votes would support the poll predictions--lost all their incredible expertise in a blond moment??

Do you think the infamous telemarketing campaign DURING the election showed any coincidence in terms of the ability of that firm to put every single employee on the payroll of their democratic client?? Do you think this type of activity DURING actual voting hours is a laudable thing, and ought to be encouraged in future elections??

Do you think that these two incidents are proud moments in American democracy??

Do you think either or both of these incidents might have had the logical consequence of depressing a Bush vote??

Do you think that these incidents should be investigated by the new Presidential team, just to make absolutely certain that the appearance of impropriety is only appearance, and that doubts, suspicions, and fears can thus be allayed and put to rest??

I'm just wondering. It may be that all this media controversy simply reflects the stupidity of people such as myself, and that all the suspicions and accusations and offended feelings belong to people that really don't count for much. I would not be surprised to learn that your viewpoints are 100% correct, and, of course, if that is the case, you would be kind to accept my most humble apologies for these questions.
