[AMTX DLC Ability]

Pat,

Maybe I'm missing it somewhere, but does AMTX have a product for a DLC system. I know Westell and others are working (and have) ATU-Cs that fit into DLC systems like DSC LiteSpan.

A telco must have some type of field extendable unit in order to successfully deploy ADSL. I seriously doubt any telco will deploy only base units residing at COs. Pedestals, CEVs, and other forms of equipment extending CSAs must be taken into account.

How will GTE or others deploy AMTX ADSL without those type of solutions? This is a serious issue. I do not believe the 18Kft mark serves 80% of existing customers. That is because (among other reasons) there is usually more than straight metallic pairs over that distance into residential neighborhoods. Think SLC 96 or other arrangements. Has AMTX got solutions to deal with these issues? It is normally the telco that has to deal with it.

Food for thought,
Mike
