Rhythms NetConnections Tops DSL Performance Charts;
Independent Survey of DSL Providers Rates Rhythms Best-in-Class

ENGLEWOOD, Colo., Nov. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Rhythms NetConnections Inc.
(Nasdaq: RTHM), an international provider of broadband communication services,
today announced that in research by Atlantic-ACM Inc., a strategy consulting
firm, distributors ranked the company first among digital subscriber line
(DSL) providers. Noting Rhythms' exceptional ability to meet the demand for
DSL, Atlantic-ACM respondents recognized Rhythms as the industry leader in
cooperating with Independent Local Exchange Carriers to quickly and
efficiently deliver high-speed DSL services. Rhythms also garnered high
accolades in products and billing categories. The results of the report were
announced in the November issue of Phone+ Magazine.
"As the DSL industry moves into the majority adoption stage, a key success
factor is delivering a valuable service proposition," said Steve Stringer,
President and COO Rhythms. "This ranking reflects our constant commitment to
our customers and our dedication to delivering world-class DSL services so
that more and more people can capitalize on the vast benefits of broadband.
Rhythms' commitment to excellence is further demonstrated by our
implementation of Six Sigma quality processes throughout our organization."
"In this do-or-die market, what will really distinguish the top-notch DSL
providers from the rest of the pack is the extent to which they are able to
remain focused on the customer's needs. After careful consideration of the
critical systems and processes employed by DSL providers, research results
reveal that ISP customers ranked Rhythms above its competitors in many areas,"
said Nick Regas, Director of DSL Research for Atlantic-ACM.
Atlantic-ACM surveyed close to 100 ISPs to create a report card of the
five leading DSL providers. The study rates the top DSL providers in six
categories: provisioning, operations support services (OSS), network products,
pricing, and billing. Categories are ranked by importance, and because
provisioning and OSS are often the most critical and troublesome areas, they
top the list. Rhythms scored first in both of these categories and earned the
highest rating for overall performance.
