peter:

You have identified the unmistakeable trend occurring over the past two years of two companies whose elative performance trends are rapidly changing, one for the better and one for the worse...We have one company that 2 years ago competed in only the low end and is now producing price/performance superior product across all MHz ranges...We have another company that having been knocked off its perch is repeatedly promising (i.e some-time-in-the-future-if-ever) to recapture its leadership role...Don't know if it's apparent to most that at the time of Athy's release, the Paul and groupie claims were that Athy could never compete with PWeeiii...The next "red herring" of Paul and his groupies was the limP4 threat, which as we've seen today, and as implied by Mr. Meyer in the conference call, is a bit of a dud, to say the least...Guess we'll be hearing about AMD's non-presence in the server and mobile spaces over the next while until the Athy derivatives take hold of these spaces as well...Just not much high ground left upon which Paul and his groupies can take shelter from "the Athy flood" currently underway in the microprocessor marketplace...

By the way, I'm wondering if the limP4 will turn out to be the Edsel of this decade!!!
