Hmm. I see your point that the number was actually filled in by Republican activists, and not by county employees. I'm not sure what the significance of the "registration number" is. Do you know what this number is, or why the voter himself must fill it out? It apparently is on the request for a ballot, not on the ballot itself, so I can't imagine why it is that important that the voter himself be the one that fills it out. I would suspect this will be a non-issue, unless there is something more that I don't understand. Clearly party activists can help people fill out requests for absentee ballots, just as they can pick them up and take them to ballots. It's all a part of the get-out-the-vote campaign conducted by both sides. Now they can't give them cigarettes or bribe them to vote, but they can help them to get to the ballot box or to get an absentee ballot. Carl
