<ot>Hi Carl - I ve no idea what the reg # is either, but it appears to be part of the requirement, i.e., w/o it, it is not valid. Having a GOP activist filling it in, w/o the voter consent, is tantamount to tampering. Why, if we allow 3rd party activity w/o any consent or POA etc etc, we may as well allow the activists of the other side to ascertain voter's intents should multiple presidential candidates were punched through [this is actually not hard to do: say if the entire ballot choices are for the dems, except Gore and Buchanan were both chosen, then it is obvious Gore is the really choice, since it is hard to imagine a person voting for a straight dems ticket would pick a RF candidate.] But it is probably not an acceptable answer to the other side.

With regard to fraud, I think accusations are flying both ways. The truth is that except for a few bad apples [probably on both sides,] any inadvertent mistake is just that. I guess that makes me a naive person :)!

Finally, I am glad Sen Lieberman sees it my way :)
