Bill:

AMD has got the goods with its "Athy"...Just look at the INTC's production casualty list over the past year since the Athy introduction. Based upon what I see, the limP4 can be added to that list...I am fast gaining the distinct sense that AMD is holding a royal flush (including mobile and server space products to come in Y2001) while INTC, now that PWeeiii architecture has been supplanted by the superior Athy architecture, keeps having to go to the well in hopes of improving their hand...I have the distinct impression that AMD can, and will, up the ante when the need arises...Right now, AMD is on cruise control, ramping up Dresden in effort to fill Athy orders and working out any kinks in the upcoming mobile and server offerings. Just no need to rush now that they've introduced the incomparable Athy/DDR combo which will consume a large part of their production capacity in Y2001 from my vantage point...40 million microprocessors in Y2001 is the AMD target...The incomparable Athy/DDR virtually assures realization of that target. The upcoming mobile and server offerings will ensure ASP's rise well above $100 in Y2001 as demand for AMD products begins to outstrip supply and as AMD's superior products rightly (i.e in keeping with laws of economics) begin to demand premium pricing...
