What about the supposedly high levels of cash in money markets and higher cash positions of mutual funds? There seems to be an idea that this money must fuel a market surge. But I notice the Japanese have been able to maintain $12 trillion or so in savings accounts for years without any benefit to their market. Compared to that amount, our cash levels seem quite low.
