ng, Perhaps Intel studies history and does not repeat the errors of the past. AMD does read history. The problem is Intel is a large company and they are trying to make a distinct stream in the market. the P-4 stream, sorta like microchannel was before IBM killed it. Intel will make the P-4 and all associated with as proprietary as possible. If they get people optimising for the screaming sindy extensions one and two how will AMD counter that? By reliance on 3Dnow?, NBL. I am not sure to what degree AMD can recode those SSI 1 and 2 extensions by the use of chinese wall methods that generate workalike code that does not infringe and intel copyrights or patents

Remember Intel has thought about this with care and has tried to create an unassailable method. Not to despair, what one man can do so can another.
If there is only one way to do it, then AMD can do it that way as it is not a copyright issue.

I am by no means certain that AMD will rise to over $100, however I feel it will do better next year.
