Powell is a registered Republican. He has no interest in being president, but is very interested in foreign affairs and would certainly be very interested in being Secretary of State, following one of his heroes, General (not Thurgood) Marshall. This represents the rare case of a person being honest about his strengths (defense and foreign affairs) and understanding his limitations (economics and domestic policies).
