Terry-

I like the deal a lot. It seems I'm the only person on this thread to remain bullish about CUC. Perhaps that's odd considering I've held the stock for 16 months and have no profit. I still like the business and the growth prospects. HFS only enhances it. Notice that the acquisition is very accretive. The analysts and stock market is always shortsighted, and often the sentiment will reverse within the next few months.

Someone mentioned shareholders being interested in short term profits, and management not being sensitive to that. The company is focused on long-term growth and profit, not short-term. That is one definition of a good business, IMO. If someone wants quick profits, CU is not the stock to buy. Networking stocks in April were the best bet.

It's true that CU may go nowhere until September, when the deal may close. Frankly, I hope it returns to $19-20 before that, so I can load up. I didn't do it when it recently swooned. It's now trading at $23, so I may get my chance.

I believe that the stock will reach $50 by 2000.
