"As to the architecture? what evil lurks in the heart of intel, They did not do this in error or from stupids, so there is something that has not been perceived that will give the P-4 some kind of enduring edge?
What is it?"

INTC has been working on P4 for many years...Perhaps a few design decisions along the way to turn left rather than right have ultimately constrained overall performance...No overall balance...INTC's hands may now be tied by such constraints...Any apparent "main stream appeal" P4 advantage escapes me...The Athy/DDR has muchos "main stream appeal" and "balanced" performance to back it up...No contest based upon what I see...which does, once again, beg the question...Why would INTC release such a limp offering as an example of its "leading edge" technology...Maybe they're in more trouble than anyone could possibly imagine or maybe heavily subsidized P4 systems had to be rushed to market to keep Dell in the fold...Don't know...but showcasing such a limp "new product" surely does seem to smack of some form of desparation!!!
