Hi, Rambi. I've got the TV tuned to the Florida Supreme Court right now. I just hated that this matter was taken to the courts, but as sit here, I'm changing my mind for the simple reason that it's such a pleasure to hear a civil, informative discussion for a change. Such a contrast to all the hyperbole that's been flying around! How nice it would be if all those who offer opinions on this conducted themselves as though they were in a high court. Sigh!

What struck me was the source of the memo...The intent is obvious.

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if the Dems game plan including challenging as many military votes as possible. But I don't think it's at all fair to say that this particular memo demonstrates that intent. I take your point about the source and recipients of the memo and would agree that it adds to the circumstantial evidence. But there are also possible innocent explanations for the memo. And I'm sure you'll understand that I'm not persuaded by the opinion of a county Republican chairman.

My beef is that all sorts of supposedly reliable folks, like General Schwartzkopf and Bob Dole, were giving the impression that the Dems had sent out a memo that explicitly stated the objective was to invalidate military votes, not that they suspected that that was the purpose of the memo. It's bad enough we get that kind of sloppy thinking on message boards. We deserve better from public figures on Sunday morning talk shows.
