1. People out here where already look at me funny because I don't own a gun. It's pheasant season, and you damn near have to duck to avoid the gunfire. Anybody who ain't out killin' animals is kind of like a liberal, you know, communist.

2. If I didn't eat meat, I'd probably get strung up for failure to support our biggest industry.

3. BTW, I don' eat deer. And the only fur in my house belongs to the ferrets, the cat and the dog.

4. Bambi is a menace to the safety of the road. I have hit three in the last 8 years. But I think the way to solve it is not to hunt, but to let wolves and coyotes run free. Fat chance in beef country!!

Such are the conflicts in this part of the world.

Oh, and that damn Thumper ate my baby weigela shrubs last year.
