Hi Reid,
Thanks for the elaboration. I'm largely in agreement. In 1995, I heard for the first time that I would be able to use the Internet to create my own "newspaper". That was an electrifying moment for me, the tipping point for me to get on-line. I love the opportunities that we have for unfiltered information, like the filings before the Florida Supreme Court, that allow us to read for ourselves the basis upon which the court will be making its decision, along with the statutes and precedent referenced. And I am grateful for the URLs of special interest that you've provided. :)
Thank you for you explanation as to how you came upon the L.V. Sun. Basically, it was a fun read, with the exception that it was flat out lying about Harry Reid's position. This is the only reason I got thorny. I am tremendously irritated with GOP spin, and I won't let it go unchallenged. As Greg so poignantly expressed about the poor minister from the Christian Confessing Church who ended up in a concentration camp for seven years, it is a long slippery slope when we first allow the dissemblers to start on their devious course. As I see it, the GOP spin machine doesn't mind lying through its teeth and is content if 10 of 100 lies are accepted by the public. But they are still lies. That is the problem with allowing the dissembling to go unchallenged. Please understand I am not attacking you personally, I am attacking the machine, the process of dissembling where we all lose sight of the unvarnished truth. That is my concern. Thanks. :)
