I appreciate your concern, Joshua. I understand that the Gilder thread degenerated into an ugly situation earlier this year, but consider the differences in our approaches. We debate the merits of candidates using the language of Gorilla-speak and the metrics supplied in the GG. As such, we are a co-operative, not a "meet Mr. Wizard" thread. Further, to the best of my recollection, no company has received unanimous approval from our polite but contentious membership. In contrast, Gilder shepherds a flock of sheep paying to be led to the money tree. Their disappointment is magnified by their dependency on Gilder and their unrealistic expectations.

We've had a lurker or two express a loss of faith in the GG process, to put it mildly, and move on, but it hasn't inhibited our hunt or lowered the level of polite discourse we enjoy. I can't promise this will always be the case, but that is my expectation.
