SUNW. i agree with the direction of coursey's essay. MSFT's server strategy is to commoditize hardware, drive down unit costs, and pump up the volume. to the extent that java accelerates commoditization of the server OS, it plays into MSFT's strategy.

PAIR. i don't see it being a good ADSL play but HDSL looks great as a T1 replacement for businesses. Wonder if telcos will ever offer "reverse ADSL" for businesses? what they need, at least for WWW and e-commerce, is a narrow pipe coming in and a fat pipe going out. (yes, i know about the cross-talk issues.)
