Thanks for posting that. With the recounts and lawsuits going on, we need to remember what Bob Beckel is doing behind the scenes:
<<On Thursday, Bob Beckel, a Democratic consultant, was reported by The Wall Street Journal to be "checking into the background of Republican electors, toward persuading a handful of them to vote for Mr. Gore." "I call mostly Democrats, but some Republicans, too," he says, "and ask, 'Who are these electors, and what do you know about them?' I just want to know..." Ah, an inquiring mind is a wonderful thing. "Opposition research," they call it, and everyone does it, but never before to the Electoral College. Still, who knows what might turn up? A bizarre sexual habit, some financial difficulties, the sort of thing that might be useful in a month's time ....>>
It seems to me that Beckel's actions should be illegal, just as it would be illegal for him and the Machine to do such things to a jury.
Of course, in fairness to Beckel, he claims he is working on his own and doesn't care what Al and his Machine think about it. Yeah, right. Just like the lawyer in Maine who leaked the 24 year old DUI conviction; he also claimed to be working on his on and Al and the Machine knew nothing about it. Yeah, right. Make no mistake, Al and Daley have a machine in place and Al has been quoted as saying, "I will do anything to win." That is now abundantly clear. |
