Cowen's lead semi analyst and ADI's "axe", Drew Peck, has finally spoken.

"ANALOG DEVICES (ADI: $61)
Dominant Component Supplier In Highly Visible Growth Areas

ADI has been hammered by the sell-off in semiconductor names during the past two months. In fact, its 50% plunge is about average for the group. That seems odd given that inventories have increased at many companies while ADI remains
supply-constrained, and ADI is enjoying growth 2x that of its primary competitors. ADI is selling at 22.5x calendarized 2001 earnings, but grew nearly 90% during the last 12 months and is expected to grow by 50% during the next 12 months. What's wrong with this picture? The company is quickly emerging as the dominant component supplier in
highly visible growth areas (such as wireless PDAs), and it appears to be taking large amounts of share in the broader communications markets. We believe that investors should jump at this opportunity. We expect the recent semiconductor sell-off to be short-lived (with the possible exception of microprocessor suppliers), and ADI should bounce highest.

I think he's still breaking apart various PDA's, since ADI can't or won't tell who they're shipping to (like RIMM's Blackberry). Go get 'em, Drew! And you have our permission to label ADI the new semi industry Juggernaut.
