LLCF,

Here is the key to the cheap goods in the US.

siliconinvestor.com

No technological revolution in China and Mexico as far as I know, but labor rates are piss poor. I would imagine that the China of today resembles the China of 1900 pretty much.

Technology hasn't changed much of anything. What ever happened to that paperless office <g>? About the only thing I notice that is different is that I can buy some crap from a company somewhere in the world and have it sent to my home for a huge freight cost via FEDEX on a plane burning FUEL. The cost of ordering the thing was zero though (if I disregard the monthly cost of having internet access), which helps the company I bought it from. When the rest of the world is competing for a share in 1 market things can get pretty cheap. Unfortunately, the consumer market is getting a little saturated. How many more computers, cell phones, internet accounts, eBay items and cars can I buy <g>? I'm also having trouble finding something in Walmart that isn't made in China, Mexico or Taiwan. How about you? What ever happened to that "Made in the USA" logo? I haven't seen it for years...

Bruce
