OT Hi SbH - I ve no objection about your differentiation between the 60s punch card technologies and PB county ballot reader; quite on the contrary, that is what I ve been saying all along. However, I think the assumption that the chad card design is too delicate to be handled only strengthen my argument that this system is bad to the core and thus cannot be trusted with such a tight margin race. More, evidence has suggested otherwise. A lot of times, voters were not able to cause the chad to detach [hence the existence of a large amount of pregnant chads.] I mean, while you and I are making theoretical discussion, but circumstantial evidence is on my side [not that we will get a prize :)!]
I don't think "poking a stick" theory holds either. To begin with, as I ve pointed out earlier, fraud can be commit by either side, so it is affiliation blind. However, people, dems, reps, and independents included, have been guarding these ballots like a hawk. When they are not counting them [at night,] representatives of both sides plus law enforcement officers are sleeping with these ballots. This is not "smoking in the lavatory" operation :)!
Back to the stk mkt, I know, it seems the path of least resistance won <SG>! |
