I saw a blurb on that yesterday and headed right off to the Visa site to see what the policy was. No wonder I couldn't find it...it doesn't exist yet! I'm very happy to see Visa taking on this task. It's long overdue.

I used the American Express PrivatePayments feature for the first time over the weekend. It worked great, and it will be what I use at any sites that accept AmEx from now on.

Other than that, I have one dedicated Visa card for Internet purchases, thus only putting one card at risk.

You want to hear something appalling? Charles Schwab uses SSL 2.0 for their web security, and that protocol has been broken for something like 4 years! It has two horrendous security flaws that are widely known, and most importantly, are documented all over the Internet with regard to how to exploit them. Why they haven't upgraded to 3.0 I don't know. I sent them an e-mail about a month ago on it, and also complained that they were using weak encryption algorithms. I've since seen the encryption algorithms change, but SSL 2.0 is still in use.

Unbelieveable.
