In any case, as I said, I wouldn't expect many Gore people to switch to Bush. However, polls indicate clearly that Gore has lost much partisan support. Considering that the all important relationhip of Head of the Armed Forces has been sullied to the degree it has--how many thoughtful democrats truly want Gore to now become the leader of those young men and women charged with the Nation's protection? It is a sign of immaturity to dig in one's heels, and to take a win at any cost attitude. Sometimes, to win is to lose. This might be one of those times...
