Jeez, Doug, I thought this was a politics free zone;-P).

I'm a bit curious as to why Anand backed off on spec, after the big effort with the DDR review. It might have just been too much work for a fairly esoteric number. I'd guess there'd also be some difficulty duplicating Intel's numbers, since they typically publish their own spec numbers months before the compiler version they use ships.

Personally, I like Anand. I was a little worried when he did this Rambus puff piece a while back when the Rambus PR flacks were apparently making the rounds, but he came back with his own numbers a few days later that were consistent with what most non-shareholders expected. Nobody's perfect, but he does a good job and seems to be fairly immune to flames. Pretty impressive for somebody still in high school.
