Well actually, the individuals I was speaking with last night are FROM Switzerland (actually he works with the UN and is married to a Swiss citizen). He mentioned the most amazing thing he's seen is men carrying their rifles on the train with them (unloaded, of course) as they travel to and from there duty stations. Whereas, here in the US, the minute the young troopie is done with his bullet launcher, back into the arms vault it goes. It was this conversation that prompted my comments last night.
