Bob: It is not the analyst's role to be the ultimate lead dog, so in that sense an analyst is usually a tad bit late in being the FIRST to recommend a stock for purchase, but one can still make a ton of money being the first in/out following the first or for that matter second upgrade/downgrade on a stock by a major analyst.
