Sorry Tiger Paw, the Fla. Supreme Court will side with Katherine Harris regarding the Nov. 14 deadline. Not because they want to, mind you, but because they have no choice. The reason is very simple....time, the one thing no one can buy. There is not enough time to complete the recount and still allow the loser to contest the recount as provided by Florida law. The recount would have to be completed by Dec. 6 to give the loser just 6 days to contest it. The drop dead date for the final tally is Dec. 12. Miami/Dade county told the judge they won't have their recount done in time. You can't recount only half a county, the loser will claim his votes are in the other half. I believe the judges would like to have a statewide recount. That would get them off the hook but there is not enough time and they know it. The next best thing is to blame Florida's election laws and claim those laws have tied their hands.

I'm giving you this news now so that you won't have a complete breakdown when you hear it from the court in the next few days. Gore will still have a life, he can invent a perpetual motion machine or a rocket that will fly to Mars on a gallon of gas.
