I agree with Ice, these topics should be explored on another thread. Even though nothing on this thread is really off topic, I agree with Ice that we have pushed the envelope of off topic beyond the breaking point.

You don't have to agree with me, but if you do, this thread used to be a great place for sociological/political/economic/psychological/anthropological arguments - now moribund but we could revive it:
