CHK News Tuesday November 21, 6:19 pm Eastern Time Press Release SOURCE: Questar Corp. Questar to Sell Producing Properties, Gas-Gathering System SALT LAKE CITY, Nov. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Questar Corp. (NYSE: STR - news) subsidiaries Questar Exploration and Production Co. and Questar Gas Management Co. have entered into agreements to sell working interests in oil and gas-producing properties in Oklahoma and northern Texas and a gas-gathering system in Oklahoma to Chesapeake Energy Corp. effective Nov. 1, 2000. The combined purchase price is $27 million, with closing scheduled to occur prior to Dec. 31, 2000. The transaction includes working interests in approximately 290 properties with a combined current net production of approximately 4.3 million cubic feet of gas and 180 barrels of oil per day. Gary Nordloh, president of Questar Exploration and Production Co., said the producing properties do not have long-term strategic importance to Questar. He said the sale will improve operating efficiency and result in an immediate decrease in Questar's amortization rate. Questar is a $2.3 billion diversified natural gas company headquartered in Salt Lake City.
