Heinz, I think Y2K was phony too. There were these "consultants" , one named Gary North that wrote a book about "how to survive" ect. and who was on the networks several times promoting all that bunk. Wonder what happened to him? And there was the "Art Bell Show" radio program carried on Clear Channel (CCU) and connected to Fox and Rupert Murdoch in the same way as Limbaugh. Now Art was pretty interesting, but he "retired" last April after proclaiming that the sky was falling for years. My friends in the Philippines never did understand what all the fuss was about (and they still don't) because there even in Manila and the other big cities it is not unusual for the power to go off several times a day and they have learned how to deal with it without any real problems. I guess their attitiude was that if they could handle a problem like that then why would a power outage be such a disaster here. WSR
