Hi Brian,

#1 - Thanks for starting the thread as it is a topic that is deserving of public discussion.

#2 - I think you may be overreacting to the court decision. At least they limited the democrats time period to try to find and/or create new Gore votes. It is not unreasonable to grant a reasonable amount of time to count the votes as the precincts feel is necessary /required per the guidance (or lack thereof) that they have been provided. If they use unreasonable methods to count the votes (as will be required to get a Gore victory) there are apparently measures in place for Bush to contest the result. (If all holes on a particular ballot are punched through except for the president vote it is ludicrous to consider the president vote to be a vote for Gore for example).

#3 - Even considering the worst case scenario (which is quite plausible) in which Gore successfully steals the election, I would expect considerable backlash against the democrats in future elections. I think that I will not vote Democratic for at least the next 10 years based on the democratic shenanigans I've seen in Florida. (And I was naive enough to vote for Clinton). So all is not lost.

Best Regards,
