Late Tuesday, the Florida Supreme Court ruled that state officials must accept recounted ballots in three counties. This will delay official certification of votes until Sunday evening. Vice President Gore is counting on this to overcome a 930 vote advantage to Governor Bush. Bush will have further legal options so this may not resolve the issue. I'm afraid the market will be discouraged by this outcome.
The market internals continue to look bad. The screened stock ratio made a slight improvement to 10 to 4 favoring shorts. Remain in "lite" mode.
Longs: ITT, LNCR, TMK, UCL, XTO, EDMC, PPE, VAR, HSY and VLO.
Shorts: AVP, SYBS, RSAS, BRL, and DS.
