Hi Scumbria; Actually, pretty much the only time the right wing has recently "vented its anger" was at Oklahoma when a couple of them destroyed a federal building with a bomb.
The impeachment was completely peaceful and legal, as well as justified. Letting the intimate details become public was not a good tactic, though. (G)
(Edit) I am serious, lying in court is a high crime. But Democrats are always able to justify whatever feels good as being moral, even if it isn't legal. Okay, so it's legal to get sex in the white house, even if you are arranging jobs with public expenses to the girl. I suppose that it should also be legal to lie in court about it? How about murder, would that be okay, if it was just to quiet something that should never have been discussed in public? Take a clue. Everything that Clinton did about Monica is pretty clear evidence about the morality of everything else he did while he was in power. We should be glad that the guy was concentrated on his zipper. That way he could be bribed into doing the right thing.
Now Gore is going to be president, and he is too stupid to concentrate on his zipper. Instead, the Republicans are going to have to shut government down in order to get stuff past him. If the economy goes down between now and the midterm elections, maybe the Republicans will pick up some seats. But it is just as likely that the Democrats will get more support since the electorate traditionally supports Ds more than Rs during economic down times. Then, with a Democratic government, we get to see the brilliant decisions by the other side. Close down all the nuclear power plants. Stop drilling for oil. Mandate electric cars. The resulting crash of the economy, along with the resulting destruction of the environment will be amazing to watch.
Hey, compared to Gore, I liked Clinton. Clinton was a good old boy. Gore thinks he's brilliant.
