Somebody bought 200,000 shares today, sending the ask price to $15.

The 401K phone service still isn't working, but if an employee really wanted to sell some of their SMCI stock, I think that there is a 1-800 number where they could reach a live person. There are probably about 20 "old-timers" with 40,000 shares of SMCI in their 401K that would love to be able to diversify their retirement portfolio. I think that some of them sold some at $10, mainly because the stock was only valued at $2-3 when it was given to them.

The other 1,000,000+ shares in the 401K is owned by employees who probably have a larger stake in cash, and so aren't as concerned about diversification. (The ESOP program ended in '94).

The mood is good at SimSci this week, as management just announced "casual Friday" will last all summer. No more ties!
