Paul: That is the missing piece as to why INTC would release such a "lead balloon" as the P4 in relative performance terms...Looks like the plodding P4 combined with the likelihood of sizeable subsidies has, once again, caused Dell to defer its day of reckoning with INTC...Should placate Dell for about a month or two, when the reality of "sluggish P4 performance" falls prey to the perky performance of the "spry Athy"...Seems a plusible explanation of what appears as a desperate act by INTC in rusging the plodding P4 to market...Lose Dell, lose any remaining credibility...Dell at all costs...And all costs are likely what INTC will be incurring through Y2001 unless dramatic performance improvements in P4 can be squeezed out, and that certainly is not a given!!!
