Goep: Thanks for the article. How about that Irish "spin," eh? That is:
HI-TECH battery manufacturer Valence has offered Telecordia shares in the company if it surrenders its rival technology..
'Course, I wouldn't quite label this as a "surrender of rival technology." I'd be more inclined to say an agreement between entities that allows VLNC to combine all related inter-company patents under a common framework....or something like that. I don't think I'd have labeled them rivals, per se.... Then again....maybe I've been spending too much time in corporate America.... ;-)
But speaking of rivals....hows'bout that Florida decision, eh? It's coming down to this, me thinks. Regardless of who wins, the next four years are going to amount to a grudge match throughout, if I'm any student at all of human behavior. Too bad, really. As all of this is presenting to the world a picture of a rather inept U.S. government. You think somewhere Khadaffi, et.al., are laughing their collective asses off? Bottom line? Having grown up in the military I know there were times when the military would do a collective groan over the machinations of the civilian machinery of government, with everyone under the tacit agreement that "the civilians don't know WHAT they're doing..." I'd say if I was to bet on it, they're really shaking their heads and groaning right now.... Truly, the civilians don't know what they're doing.....
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
