I have a problem with the idea that Borland will be acquired in the near future. The aquisition of Borland has been touted on this board and others for years. Borland was trading at less than $4 a share just months ago and no buyer surfaced then, why should a buyer surface at a higher price?

Dale Fuller has mentioned a number of times that there are no plans for the sale of the company. But if the right opportunity came around, everything has its price. After the Corel debacle (anyone multiplied Corel's current share price by 0.747 lately?), I'm much more comfortable going forward as an independent company. The CFO has done a great job containing costs. Now its time for some marketing and sales to increase revenues. The new management hires from Compuware are good additions and should help direct the sales and marketing efforts. It seems that Mr. Fuller has started doing what a good CEO should do. Surround himself with good people with the right experience and business contacts...and then let them do what they are good at.
