Paul,

I'd like to point out that Intel's decision to react to DEC's declaration of war was made immediately after the filing of their lawsuit on 5/13. Intel wrote their letter to DEC demanding the return of Intel documents on 5/15. DEC responded on 5/20 and said they wouldn't return the documents. Intel filed this suit as soon as they could after DEC's response to them. No fooling around here!

In my opinion, the message is very clear to DEC - If you want to pursue this lawsuit, go ahead, but be advised that we no longer want to do business with you under these conditions. We will not support you on future Intel products and we are not going to make it easy or cheap for you to purchase Intel products in the near future.

It took DEC how many years to file their lawsuit? I'd bet that it won't take that long for Intel to find some patent infringement on DEC's part and countersue on that basis.

The pressure on DEC will be relentless. I wouldn't want to have an opponent the likes if Intel against me. They ought not to either.

The DEC stockholders ought to be able to see the writing on the wall.
I think Palmer's days are numbered.

BTW, CNBC just reported that DEC just responded to the lawsuit saying that they haven't done anything wrong and that Intel's lawsuit is unjustified. Ha!
