i see that you have received a number of very good responses. i hope that they will help fix you up.

you might also try searching via file manager for the .dll file that is specifically mentioned in the error message. (this is assuming that the message says something more than what you have posted.) if your search produces more than one of the specified .dll's, then we should take steps to remove one by way of renaming the extension. it is very common for two or more versions of the same .dll to reside on a system, and this can be a source of great conflict.

my other suggestion is for you to run the system file checker if you have win98. this may find corruption and repair it for you.
