Dear Monu: Here is the situation in Palm Beach County. Votes that had a dimple for President but clearly punched holes for other elections on that ballot were NOT counted for either candidate. Dems want merely a dimple for President counted EVEN if the rest of the ballot was properly punched. Judge Burton of the canvassing board testified in court this morning that the board unanimously felt that they COULD NOT determine the voters intent purely on that example I gave you. All parties were heard. We have not yet heard the decision of the court but it sure looks to me as though the Canvassing board will be found to properly exercising its authority in determining voter intent. IF the case is so decided most of those 10,000 votes you are referring too (I am not so sure its that high) will likely NOT be counted as they seem to represent the example I discussed above. JDN
