Mike - 1929 thing is baloney. In April of 1929 unemployment began going up rapidly, 6 months before the market crash. To curb the stock 'market bubble' of the late 20's the FED started shrinking the money supply around the same time, maybe sooner. By 1932, the money supply was 60% of what it had been 3 years earlier. There was no growth during this period, rather a servre contraction. The tech revolution of the early 1900's started around 1890.

No matter what else may be happening, this is NOT like 1929 at all.
