His Daddy told him, at least

Mrs. Gore always said the Senator was his Daddy.

As to mistakes, we all make them and if we miss out on something when we make a booboo, we learn the lesson and don't make the mistake again. This is a process as old as man and is constructive, educational and good. The only people who want to bypass this critical natural process and replace it with government cradle to grave wet nursing is, of course, Stateists.

As to old people, I know old people by the bushel load, and each and every one of them values their vote and makes sure they know the rules of voting and they abide by the rules. In this country we have the right to vote. For every right there is a coresponding responsibility. In voting that means learning how to vote in your county, the mechanics, the hours, the day etc. If you don't, then you do not deserve to have your vote counted. When you grow up a little and care to learn, then your vote gets counted.
