Ten,
re: "That's what this case is truly about, even though the partisan court is pretending otherwise."
The court is the only body that isn't partisan in this dispute. They are the only body that has nothing to gain or to lose. That is the point of a Supreme Court. They made a decision in favor OF THE VOTERS, THE PEOPLE, rather than a political party.
You can argue that they are dealing in principle rather than reality, that there is no way to enforce a complete vote. You can disagree with their interpretation of law. But if you argue that their motives are partisan, you are 100% wrong.
THINK, the SOS was the Bush party co-chairman in Florida, about as far from non-partisan that you can get. The state legislature is Republican, the state Governor is the Bush's brother. The three canvassing boards are from Democrat counties, but are mostly just local folks, like the people that live next door to you. They are trying to do a good job under a national media microscope. The SOS cut off the recounts, when Florida law has held, for years, that they are legal, and that the vote of every individual is sacred. The local election people are over their heads, they've never had political pressure like this. Step back and think, if you were a part of the highest court in the state, and you were charged with being the only non-partisan player, what would you do? The fact that they were unanimous speaks volumes, unless you believe that Democrat/Republican, for these judges, that are the best in Florida, is more important than the spirit of the law.
I don't give a SH*T about either candidate. At this point, nobody should. They have clearly shown they don't care about this country. The folks that are working the elections in the counties, IMHO, are the people who deserve our respect. And I think the Florida Supreme Court is giving these people their lead, because they are the least biased folks in this Circus.
