This is an interesting question. The Dems could have floated a much more likable candidate and won easily.
They may even have got my vote.
If Bush wins I think he will serve to bring people together, like it or not.
If Gore loses, Hillary will be happy in that she can go after the nomination in 2004. At that time she will likely have shedded the Billy baggage, the carpetbagger image and will be a much more formidable candidate.
