GST, As you might remember, back in '99, we discussed LSI on this thread. I had held LSI through a tough period in '98. ANd for me the attraction was that they have a large chip making capacity which was under-utilized, and which was just becoming employed. Meaning they have high overhead, but their variable cost is low when their capacity is fully utilized. As far as I know, nothing has changed from that mode of operation. The people who left LSI, I had never heard of them, and a year ago nobody else had either. Definitely, nobody cared when the stock was at pre-split $10/sh. So why anyone cares now, I don't know. The issue should be their chip making facility, and their revenue and backlog.
