If the Palomino does indeed, as has been rumored, have hardware prefetching as well as SSE, I seriously hope AMD will call it Athlon2. It certainly fits all the criteria previously employed by both AMD and Intel for a new name.

I don't think AMD will do it, though, and I think that's a medium-sized mistake.
