Frontier isn't buying anybody anymore (how's that for grammar). Frontier is in deep stuff right now and needs to focus on improving its infrastructure, employee morale, holding onto existing accounts, and sales. It's earnings have sucked the last few quarters and has had more than one surprise significant "one time write down".

Take a look at the June 2, 1997, Forbes lambasting (pg. 14). The writer, David Fondiller, is extremely biased and lays down a fair amount of crap but some of what he says is true (the part about Excel Comm having to let Frontier know it's network was down is pure crap.)
But what is the public going to believe?

The article won't have any effect on the stock. This is still a great buy. If Frontier can't make a run at the big time, someone will buy them and it will probably happen w/i 18 months.
