Hi Ron, thanks for the info. I believe the Japanese are the largest foreign holders of long term treasuries, and China/Taiwan/HK of short term treasuries. So now we have a situation where the US government is buying its own paper back and the Japanese the net seller of treasuries. Will the Japanese step back in when the US government need to issue new papers? That, in a nut shell, is the gamble as we step into the imaginary time machine.
