Presstek Announces New Products and Strategic Alliances at Imprinta '97
HUDSON, N.H., May 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Presstek, Inc. (Nasdaq:PRST) today announced several new products and strategic alliances that will emerge at the Imprinta '97 tradeshow in Dusseldorf, Germany. Presstek will share booth space with Typon, its graphic systems distributor in Switzerland and Germany. Customers will see a full range of thermal plates and imaging devices including Presstek's latest process-free, thermal CTP plate, PEARLgold(TM).
PEARLgold represents a major advancement in digital plate technology. It requires no pre- or post-exposure processing, baking procedures, or intermediate cleaning operations. PEARLgold is a truly process-free, commercial-quality CTP plate; just expose it and deliver it to the press.
Also, Imprinta represents the premiere European showing of the Presstek PEARLhdp(TM), a thermal, halftone digital proofing system using Imation's Matchprint(TM) Laser Proof materials. By combining these proven technologies, the missing link in the digital workflow -- a pressroom-acceptable proof -- becomes reality.
Presstek PEARL(R) imaging and/or plate technologies will be demonstrated in the following locations at Imprinta '97:

Presstek, Inc., founded in 1987, has developed PEARL, a patented, proprietary non-photographic, toxic-free, digital imaging and printing plate technology for the printing and graphic arts industries on a worldwide basis. PEARL's thermal laser diode system is capable of imaging various types of Presstek printing plates either off-press or on-press to produce high quality, full-color lithographic printed materials. Presstek is also engaged in the development of additional products and applications that incorporate its proprietary PEARL technologies and consumables, including both computer-to- plate and other direct-to-press applications.
