SCARBOROUGH ANNOUNCES RALLY TO PROTEST DISENFRANCHISEMENT OF MILITARY SERVICEMEN AND NORTHWEST FLORIDA VOTERS Washington, D.C. - U.S. Representative Joe Scarborough (R-FL, 1) announced today that military servicemen, retirees and Northwest Florida voters would hold a rally to protest the disenfranchisement of military servicemen and Northwest Florida voters. The protest will also demand that the Florida legislature take immediate action to prevent the Florida certification from being tainted by fraud in South Florida counties.
The rally will be held at 12 PM CT, Saturday, November 25, 2000, at the Old County Courthouse in Pensacola, Florida.
The press conference will address the Florida Supreme Court's decision, a pending lawsuit by Northwest Florida voters whose votes were disenfranchised due to the television network's decision to call Florida for Gore by 7:40 PM ET on election day, and a lawsuit regarding the efforts of the Gore-Lieberman campaign to systematically disenfranchise the votes of servicemen and women.
All interested parties are invited to attend.
